No data collected No account No ads or tracking Works offline

The short version

TripTidy does not collect your data

There is no account to create, no server to send anything to, and no analytics or advertising code in the app.

Everything you type — your trips, packing items, templates and settings — is saved in private storage on your own device and stays there. AZOO LTD never receives it and could not read it even if we wanted to.

The release build of TripTidy does not even request the Android internet permission, so the app is technically incapable of transmitting your information anywhere.

Two honest footnotes

If your device has Android Backup switched on, Android itself may include TripTidy's data in the backup saved to your Google account (section 6). And if you choose to email us for support, we obviously receive that email (section 9).

The rest of this document is the detail behind those statements.

Section 1

Who we are

TripTidy is published by AZOO LTD, developer Adnan Aleem.

For any question about this policy, email adnan@tryclosora.com.

Because TripTidy processes no personal data on our behalf, AZOO LTD does not act as a data controller for anything you enter into the app. You remain in sole control of the content on your device. Where we do receive information — only when you contact us directly — we act as controller for that correspondence, as described in section 9.

Section 2

What TripTidy stores on your device

TripTidy is an offline utility. It saves the following in a private database and a private preferences file inside the app's own sandbox on your device. Other apps on your device cannot read this data, and it is never uploaded by TripTidy.

What TripTidy stores locally
CategoryWhat it holds
Trips Trip name; destination, if you enter one; start and end dates; trip type (weekend, business, beach, hiking, international, family, other); your notes; whether a reminder is on and when it is set for.
Packing items Item name; category (clothing, toiletries, electronics, documents, health, accessories, essentials, or custom); quantity; your note; whether it is packed; list order.
Templates Name, description, the trip type it suits, the items it contains, and whether it is one of the six lists TripTidy ships with or one you made.
Your settings Theme choice; whether you finished the intro screens; default trip type and default packing list; whether new trips start with a reminder on; how many days ahead and what time to remind you; whether the built-in templates are installed.

Technical detail, for completeness

The database is a SQLite file named trip_tidy.db held in the application's private data directory. Settings are stored in the standard Android SharedPreferences file for the app. Each trip, item and template is given a random local reference so the app can link them together. That reference is generated on your device, is not derived from your phone's hardware or any advertising identifier, is never transmitted, and does not survive resetting the app's data.

Why this matters to us

A packing list can reveal where you are going and when your home will be empty. We consider that genuinely private information. That is precisely why TripTidy has no mechanism to send it anywhere.

Section 3

What we do not collect

TripTidy does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, share, or monetise any personal information. Specifically, the app contains none of the following:

  • No account, sign-in, sign-up, or user profile
  • No analytics or usage-measurement code of any kind
  • No advertising network, ad identifier, or ad personalisation
  • No crash-reporting or performance-monitoring service
  • No attribution, install-tracking, or marketing SDK
  • No social network integration or login provider
  • No cookies or web tracking — the app contains no web view
  • No location access, GPS, or geolocation of any kind
  • No access to your camera, microphone, photos, or media
  • No access to your contacts, call logs, messages, or calendar
  • No access to your files or documents outside the app's own storage
  • No device fingerprinting, and no reading of your IMEI, MAC address, serial number, or advertising ID
  • No payments, purchases, subscriptions, or financial information

There is also no backend. TripTidy has no servers, no cloud storage, no sync service, and no API to talk to. The release build does not declare the android.permission.INTERNET permission, which means the operating system will not allow it to make a network connection at all.

Section 4

Permissions TripTidy uses, and why

These are the only permissions the installed app holds.

Notifications android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Purpose: to show the packing reminder you asked for.

When it is requested: only at the moment you switch a reminder on — never on first launch, and never speculatively.

If you decline: every other feature continues to work normally. You simply will not receive reminders, and you can change your mind at any time in your Android settings.

Vibration android.permission.VIBRATE

The short buzz that accompanies a reminder notification.

Run at startup android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Android discards scheduled alarms when a device restarts. This lets TripTidy re-register a reminder you already set so it still arrives after you reboot your phone. TripTidy does not run continuously in the background, and it does nothing else at startup.

An internal signature-level permission (com.azoo.trip_tidy.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION) is added automatically by an Android system library to keep the app's own internal messages private to itself. It grants no access to anything on your device and cannot be used by other apps.

What we deliberately did not ask for

TripTidy does not request internet access, precise or approximate location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, storage, or the ability to schedule exact alarms. Packing reminders use Android's inexact alarm scheduling, which means a reminder may arrive a few minutes either side of the time you chose. We consider that a fair trade for not requesting a more invasive permission and for using less of your battery.

Section 5

Reminders and notifications

Packing reminders are entirely local. There is no push notification service, no messaging server, and no remote trigger involved.

When you switch a reminder on, TripTidy asks Android's own alarm scheduler to wake the app at the time you chose. The reminder text is assembled on your device at that moment from the trip name and destination you entered. It is displayed only on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.

Please do not rely on a reminder alone

Because reminders depend on your operating system, delivery is affected by your notification settings and by battery optimisation behaviour, which varies between manufacturers. A reminder may be delayed or suppressed by Android.

You can turn any reminder off inside TripTidy, or switch off notifications for the app entirely in your Android settings.

Section 6

Backups — please read this one

This is the single case in which TripTidy's data may exist somewhere other than your device, and we would rather explain it plainly than let you discover it.

TripTidy allows Android's built-in Auto Backup feature to include the app's data. If backup is enabled on your device, Android may copy TripTidy's database and settings into the backup associated with your own Google account. The benefit is real: when you replace your phone, your trips and templates come back with you instead of being lost.

Important points about this

  • The backup is created and controlled by Android and Google, not by TripTidy.
  • It goes to your personal Google account, not to AZOO LTD. We have no access to it, receive no notification of it, and cannot read it.
  • It is governed by Google's privacy policy and your Google account settings, not by this policy.
  • You can switch it off. On most devices: Settings › Google › Backup, or Settings › System › Backup. Depending on your Android version you may also be able to exclude TripTidy specifically.

If you would prefer that nothing at all leaves your device, turn Android Backup off before using TripTidy. Everything in the app will continue to work.

Section 7

Links out of the app

The About & legal screen and the Settings screen contain a small number of links: our website, this privacy policy, our support email address, and our phone number.

Tapping one hands the link to another app already installed on your device — your browser, email client, or dialler. TripTidy attaches no information of its own to that hand-off; it passes only the fixed address itself. If no app on your device can open the link, TripTidy copies it to your clipboard and tells you so, rather than failing silently.

Once you have left TripTidy, the app or website you arrive at is governed by its own privacy policy, not this one. In particular, our website and the published copy of this policy are hosted on Google's Blogger platform, which may set cookies and log requests in the ordinary course of serving the page. That is Google's processing as the host, and it happens only if you choose to visit the page in a browser. It is not connected to the app.

Section 8

Children

TripTidy is a general-purpose travel utility. It is not directed at children, is not designed to appeal to children, and is not listed in any children's or family section of the Google Play Store.

TripTidy collects no personal information from anyone, of any age. We therefore hold no children's data and have none to delete. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information to us, contact adnan@tryclosora.com and we will address it, though in practice there is no mechanism by which that could occur through the app.

Section 9

If you contact us

If you email or call us for support, we receive whatever you choose to send — typically your email address or phone number, and the content of your message.

  • We use it only to answer you.
  • We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not send marketing.
  • We do not sell or share it.
  • Our lawful basis under UK data protection law is our legitimate interest in responding to a support request.
  • We keep support correspondence only as long as needed to resolve the matter and to keep a short record of it, then delete it.

Please do not send us your packing lists, travel dates, or documents. We do not need them to help you, and we would rather not hold them.

Section 10

Your rights

Under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and under comparable laws including the EU GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have rights over personal data an organisation holds about you. These include the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right not to be subject to automated decision-making.

For the content you create in TripTidy, these rights are already fully in your hands, because you hold the only copy:

RightHow you exercise it
Access & portability All your data is visible in the app at any time, offline, with no request needed.
Rectification Edit or correct any trip, item or template directly.
Erasure Delete anything individually, or erase everything at once (section 11).
Restriction & objection There is no processing by us to restrict or object to. We do not profile you and make no automated decisions about you.

We cannot action a data request for content held only on your device, because we have no access to it and no way to identify you. For any personal data you have sent us directly under section 9, email adnan@tryclosora.com and we will respond within one month.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is nothing to opt out of.

If you are in the UK and are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. If you are in the EU, you may complain to your national supervisory authority.

Section 11

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your device until you remove it. TripTidy applies no expiry and no automatic clean-up.

To delete individual items

Delete any trip, packing item, or template from within the app. Most deletions offer an Undo option immediately afterwards.

To delete everything

Settings › Data › Reset local data. After you confirm, this permanently removes every trip, packing item and template, and resets all your preferences. It cannot be undone.

By uninstalling

Removing TripTidy deletes its database and settings from your device.

One thing to remember

If Android Backup is switched on (section 6), a copy of your data may remain in your own Google account backup after you delete it in the app or uninstall. Manage or remove that through your Google account backup settings.

There is nothing held on our side to request the deletion of, because nothing is ever sent to us.

Section 12

Security

TripTidy relies on the security model Android provides. Its database and preferences are stored in the app's private data directory, which Android isolates so that other installed apps cannot read it.

Data is not encrypted in transit for the simple reason that it is never in transit. It is not separately encrypted at rest beyond whatever full-device encryption your Android device applies, which on modern devices is enabled by default and tied to your screen lock.

The practical implication, stated honestly: the security of your packing lists is the security of your device. Use a screen lock and keep Android updated. Anyone with unlocked physical access to your phone can open TripTidy and read your lists, exactly as they could with your notes or photos.

We hold no database of users, so there is no central store to be breached.

Section 13

What TripTidy is not

TripTidy is a personal packing organiser. It is not a travel agency, airline, tour operator, insurer, border authority, or emergency service, and it does not provide travel, legal, medical or financial advice. Always confirm entry requirements, travel documents, baggage rules and health guidance with the relevant official source.

Section 14

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app changes or when the law requires it. The effective date at the top always shows the current version, and the current version is also viewable inside the app under Settings › Privacy policy.

If a future version of TripTidy ever introduces a feature that collects or transmits data — optional cloud sync, for example — we will update this policy before that feature ships, describe it plainly, and ask for your consent in the app rather than relying on a silent policy change. We would also have to change the app's Data Safety declaration on Google Play, which is publicly visible.

Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
